The hotel in Miri

We stayed at the Marriot Hotel in Miri which is in Sarawak Malaysia for the bank holiday weekend. It was really nice. it had a huge pool with a pool bar. The breakfast and rooms were amazing as well.

I also went to the Spa. Me and Neil had this fab massage. Firstly you have a foot bath/massage, then you go outside into a lovely hot tub which is filled with aromatherapy oils and Petals. After that you have an aromatherapy steam shower and then finally a Balinese massage. It was fantastic. Slightly over-indulgent......but hey I was on holiday.

In the evening we had a lovely bottle of wine and a pizza on the balcony of the hotel. It was nice to be able to buy a decent bottle of wine......because it's not that easy in Brunei.

We also went to the Niah Caves. The pictures are in the post below.

Niah Caves

As you can see the trek to the Niah caves was slightly hazardous. Some of the path was underwater and the new path hadn't exactly finished been built.

The caves were massive. There were loads of birds and pats inside. It smelled a bit inside of bird and pat poo tho. In places you needed a torch to see where you were going.

New Year

Well, we spent new year on the plane. I hate flying especially when coming back to Brunei because you get easily jet lagged. I'm back at school now, which is good. Lots of work to do of course. Neil and I are going to Kuala Lurah tonight for a meal and a few drinks. Tomorrow we are off to walk up Shabandar, which is a nearby walk over nine hills. Although I'm not sure we'll be walking all nine.
